Privacy Policy

Noico is a native Mac app. Almost everything it does happens entirely on your device. Noico does not run any analytics or tracking SDK, does not build an advertising profile, and does not sell or share your personal data with anyone. The sections below list every permission Noico can ask for, what it's used for, and exactly where that data goes.

1. Location. Used only to show local weather in the notch. Your coordinates are sent directly from your Mac to Open-Meteo (a third-party weather API) to fetch the forecast — they are never sent to Noico's own servers. If you deny or disable location access, Noico falls back to a fixed default city instead.
2. Calendar. Read-only access to show your upcoming events in the notch calendar widget. Event data is read and displayed locally and is never transmitted anywhere.
3. Clipboard (Pro feature). Noico can keep a local history of recently copied text, links, and images for the Clipboard widget. This history stays on your device and is never uploaded or synced anywhere.
4. Downloads folder / Recent Files (Pro feature). Used to list your recently added files for quick drag-and-drop access. Noico only reads file names and metadata to display the list — nothing is uploaded.
5. Automation (Apple Events). Used to read now-playing info from Spotify and Apple Music and to send play/pause/skip commands when you use Noico's playback controls. This communication happens entirely between apps on your Mac.

1. License activation. If you purchase Noico Pro, your license key is sent to Lemon Squeezy (our payment and licensing provider) to verify it's valid. Noico never sees or stores your payment details — checkout and billing are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy.
2. Software updates. Noico periodically checks noico.app for the latest available version so it can offer to update itself. This check includes only what's needed to identify a compatible update (app version, macOS version) — no personal data.
3. Weather lookups. As above — your coordinates go to Open-Meteo to fetch a forecast, not to Noico.

Trial status and cached license state are stored locally in your Mac's Keychain and in standard app preferences — never on a remote server, and never tied to an account, since Noico doesn't have user accounts. Uninstalling Noico removes its preferences; Keychain items can be removed separately via Keychain Access if you want a completely clean uninstall.

If what Noico accesses or does with data changes in a future update, this page will be updated to match, and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
